The prestigious 16th Annual Gujarati Screen and Stage Awards 2016 completed sweet sixteen with grandeur and glam

The only of its kind grand tradition of felicitating best artists and technicians very year has created history by completing  16th celebration this year. 49 best Gujarati artists were felicitated at The 16th Annual Transmedia Gujarati Screen and Stage Awards 2016, which was held at Hotel Tulip Star, Juhu, Mumbai.

This year, was a record 45 Gujarati films participated for awards and also the competition was between 31 Mumbai dramas, 18 Gujarat Dramas, 5 Television serials. More than 350 artists and technicians have nominated in around 42 various categories.

Shri Jasmin Shah, MD of Transmedia made the moment energetic amongst the present audience of 4,000 when he Thanks the Chief Minister of Gujarat for announcing encouraging Policy for Gujarati Films, which resulted in maximum films this year.  He predicted that, when the awards started in 2001, only 8 to 10 films were made in a year, it has increased gradually to 30-40, but after the declaration of policy yearly 100 films will be made and the Gujarati Film Industry will cross 100 crores. Also, there will be a great work generation for the Artists and Technicians.

The dignitaries present on the dias were Film Star Jitendra Kapoor, Shri Manohar Kanungo, Shri Jayantilal Gada of Pen Video, Sanjay Upadhyaya and Anuj Poddar of colors -Viacom 18,  Manoj Desai (producer “khuda gavah’ ), Manoj Joshi,Maryam Zakaria,Akanksha Puri,Padamshri Bhikhudan Gadhavi, and many others. This year also this entire event will telecast on ‘Colors Gujarati’  and then on “Soham” tv channel.

Having interviewed stars like Shahrukh Khan, Anil Kapoor and much more, Aparshakti Khurana is back with another kick-ass episode of ‘Star with Apar’, this time making it even more special as he will be having his co-stars Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt as guests on his show.

Vidyut Jammwal- The Action Star Of This Generation

Arbaaz Khan,Aindrita Ray,Hemant Pandey and Vikas Verma shoots for Chandrakant Singh's film Coming Back in Switzerland

Chandrakant Singh who has made three comedies and one social awareness with Women Empowerment film Six X is shooting for his thriller film Coming Back with Arbaaz Khan.The film will be entirely shot in  Arosa, Switzerland .The film is produced by Mahendra Singh Namdev of Ahilya Productions and Rakesh Datta of RRD Motion Pictures.The film also has Kannada superstar Aindrita Ray who will be making her debut in Hindi film. Arbaaz Khan said,It's an interesting script and the makers thought that I fit the part. Chandrakant Singh said Arbaaz Khan will play Contrasting characters.One role will be that of the Switzerland-based business tycoon, who gets married at 40 to a much younger girl.The plot thickens after he is murdered. Vikas Verma, Hemant Pandey and Govind Namdeo are supporting cast of the film.This is the first Hindi film which will shot entirely in Switzerland. Chandrakant Singh said that - We are shooting our film in Arosa one of the most happening and richest ski resort of Switzerland. It's 2 & half hour drive from Zurich.The temperature was mostly -18 degree to -25 degree.

Rights of “Amit Khan’s”novels sold even before publishing of the novels

The name Amit Khan needs no introduction today. He is a big name in the world of Hindi thriller novels. More than hundred novels written by him have been published so far. Not only that, his novels are now being published in English and Marathi by reputed publishing houses. Amit Khan is also very active in Bollywood. He has written many films and a lot of episodes of television serials scripted by him have been telecasted so far. He is also doing Marathi films. ‘Laal Ishq’ produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali Productions released recently was based on Amit Khan’s story. ‘Fifty-Fifty’ produced by ‘Manmohan Desai Productions’ will be releasing soon. His writing achievements are far more diverse. Amit Khan has written a lot of Diamond Comics which have been published in Hindi, English and Bengali language. The biggest and most interesting news is film rights of two of his novels have recently been purchased by two producers. Rights of those novels which have not even been published yet!

How did this journey of writing begin?

Even I did not realise! I was 12 years old. I wrote a story based on a life of American President George Washington and it got published. Since then writing and getting published became part of my life. It is still in progress. My first novel was published when I was 15 years old. So far total 105 novels have been out. I have also written many short stories. From English magazine Women’s Era to Manohar Kahaniyaan and Navbharat Times, everywhere my stories have been published. 

What do you feel about films based on novels?

Today there are many writers in Bollywood but very few of them are good writers who are creating remarkable work. In a film, screenplay matters more than a story and I believe every story must have a USP. Based on that USP, the complete marketing strategy is designed. Crores of rupees are at stake on that. Many times the script is good but there is no USP. ‘Films based on novels’ is a new concept in Bollywood but this has been going on in Hollywood since a long time. Many of Gulshan Nanda’s novels have been turned into films earlier. Good films have been created based on Chetan Bhagat’s novels too. I am being approached by producers with good offers. Two of my novels on which I was working, rights of those novels have been purchased even before the publishing of those novels. One of them was purchased by Dhaval Gada (Pen India) and other was acquired by NRI businessman Pradeep Rangwani. Based on this latter novel, production of the film has actually begun. The title of that film is ‘RED AFFAIR’ and Arbaaz Khan is playing a lead role in it.

Any other project?

Yes, I am also working on a comedy film for ‘UV Films’. The film is titled- ‘Suicide Circus’. It is my dream project. I want to cast Mr Amitabh Bachchan in this film. As soon as I complete the script, he will be the first person approached.

Your identity is a Thriller Writer, then how come you are writing a Comedy Film?

I think if you are a sensible writer, then you can write any genre. I have also written many love stories which have been published and received good readership. I have also penned comedies. In fact ‘Suicide Circus’ is based on one of my short stories.  

Good! We have heard that you also have a YouTube channel.

Yes, indeed! “Amit Khan ki chaupaal” is the name of my YouTube Channel. It has recently started and already received the wonderful response. On this channel, you can find stories and poetry created by me and narrated in my voice. This channel is being handled by “P.K. Online” a big company. After starting this channel- “Amit Khan ki chaupaal”, I have started receiving offers from radio channels. They want me to narrate my stories in a radio show just like ‘Nilesh Mishra’. As soon as my deal with a radio channel is finalised, I will surely let you know.

The makers of Machine have launched the trailer of the film and it looks incredible. The film that features debutant Mustafa and Kiara Advani, looks like a cool, new-age love story filled with action, drama and twists and turns.

Not only does Mustafa stun you with his dapper look, but the conviction with which he delivers his dialogues makes you wonder if this really is his debut! Songstress Meghan Trainor has unveiled  “I’m a Lady,” her new song from the fully-animated feature film Smurfs: The Lost Village.The Grammy-winning pop star dropped the sassy, girl power anthem overnight. The accompanying music video will premiere next Friday, March 3^rd Trainor also announced that she will be voicing one of the new characters from Smurfs: The Lost Village, Smurf Melody, in one of this year’s most awaited animation feature films.

“I’m so excited to be singing ‘I’m a Lady’ for this movie,” said Trainor.  “It’s a song that I love and am very proud of, and I can’t wait for the world to finally hear it! Prawaal Raman and Producer Shantanu Yadav to bring the story of a renowned activist on screen

After making the critically acclaimed film, ‘Main Aur Charles’ which was one of the top movies on Netflix last year, Prawaal Raman has also completed the official remake of the American Horror film ‘Oculus’ produced by Relativity B4U.

Prawaal's next film, a sweeping biopic based on the life and struggles of Naela Quadri Baloch- The much talked about freedom fighter from Balochistan is already under pre-production!

A Global Film is written and directed by Prawaal Raman and is produced byPrawaal Raman and Shantanu Yadav along with an international studio.

Interestingly, Inspector General of Maharashtra Police, Brijesh Singh, the acclaimed author of the book Quantam Siege is also co-writing a book on Naela Quadri along with director Prawaal Raman.

For the uninitiated, Naela Quadri Baloch is a Social and Women's rights activist, writer, poet and gives lectures internationally on Human rights.She is in exile from Baluchistan.Despite all the misery and hardships, she is passing through, she is still following Gandhian and Martin Luthor king jr's footsteps to achieve her goals.

Music director Abhishek Ray gets Mirchi music awards 2017 for Best Non film song

Music director-Singer-wild life activist Abhishek Ray is on cloud 9 as his film Wedding Anniversary is releasing on 24th February and he has composed all songs for the film. Music director Abhishek Ray is known for Paan Singh Tomar, Saheb Biwi & Gangster, I Am Kalaam,Yeh Saali Zindagi, Welcome Back and much more.He just got best non-film song award of the year for his song Aye jahaan aasmaan sung by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal and written by Nusrat Badr. Abhishek Ray got first to break when he was in school from the legendary poet Gulzar in their famous collaboration 'Udaas Paani'. Beauty and the Beast star ‘Emma Watson' kicks off Paris Premiere by launching Instagram Account on eco-fashion!

Emma Watson is more than just an actress, academic and feminist icon, she's also a humanitarian. To demonstrate the latter, she will be documenting and spotlighting the ethically made and sourced outfits that she wears on her upcoming Beauty and the Beast press tour. For the project, she has begun the Instagram account "The Press Tour."

"Bonjour Paris!" she begins in the first post on the account, which is a photo of her wearing a black and white plaid oversized coat, white sneakers, and a jumper. She goes on to list where each of the items is from and verifies that they are, in fact, consciously made.

To announce the project, she took to her personal Instagram account and uploaded a photo of her walking on a sidewalk holding a suitcase. "About to set off on day one of the @beautyandthebeast press tours with Team Watson... Hello, Paris! Bonjour!" she begins. "I've started a new Instagram called @thepresstour so you can follow our journey. I hope you enjoy seeing what goes on behind the scenes. It takes a village!"

In a refreshing new trend, Emma Watson wore a custom-made Louis Vuitton frock, cinched in at the waist with a small cut-out panel flashing a hint of flesh. With a halterneck neckline and-and a color-block bandeau fastening around the shoulders, she put on an edgy display. 

And flashing a glimpse of her toned legs, she teamed it with a pair of black designer ankle boots. She posed alongside Dan Stevens, who looked dapper in an olive green suit, coordinating shirt and funky glitter-encrusted Dr Martens. Also present was Luke Evans the rest of the film team. Emma recently opened up dished about imbuing her Belle with fearless girl power in the new live-action version of the classic fairy tale, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

'In the original, you don't get much sense of Belle, who she is before she meets Beast, so I wanted to create a backstory,' the brunette shared.

CENSOR BOARD ASKS FOR DISCLAIMER IN SARKAR 3 TRAILER

Usually, disclaimers are reserved for films.   Promos and trailers are spared this safeguarding exercise. However, in what could be a first, or at least rare, the CBFC has asked the makers of the much awaited Sarkar 3 trailer directed by Ram Gopal Varma and starring Amitabh Bachchan to add a special disclaimer to the trailer that is going to be unveiled soon!

The reason behind this rarity is that the Board has felt that the scenes and dialogues of the trailer bear an uncanny resemblance to the Thackeray family and a disclaimer is an absolute must.  If you recall, this has been a constant with the Sarkar franchise.  Even when the earlier two parts came, there was a comparison between the character played by Amitabh Bachchan and the late Thackeray patriarch.  Parallels were drawn between some of the other leads and members of the Thackeray family too.  However, this was never acknowledged or confirmed.

Sri Adhikari Brothers Signs PARITOSH PAINTER as a WRITER for Rs.7,50,000/- (Rupees Seven Lakhs Fifty Thousand) Per Episode for Special Episodes for their Upcoming Channel HAPPY

Sri Adhikari Brothers the pioneers Of Comedy having launched SABTV (Later sold to SONY) are in the process of launching their new Comedy channel HAPPY soon and as per the reports, they are leaving no stone unturned to get the best comedy talent on board for the same.

As per the industry sources, they have sign PARITOSH PAINTER as a WRITER (Conceptualization/Story/Screenplay/Dialogues) for a sum of Rs.7,50,000/- Per episode. This is usually the entire production budget of most of the shows on television.

Paritosh confirmed that he is writing for Sri Adhikari Brothers but didn’t divulge any further details. Paritosh has been involved with Adhikari Brothers in their past productions and also when they successfully launched DABBANG, MAST II & DHAMAAL channels for the Adhikari Brothers.

Paritosh has also been signed by Indra Kumar & Ashok Thakeria for TOTAL DHAMAAL to do the Story/Screenplay & Dialogues. He was the writer for the 1^st instalment of DHAMAAL as well.

Paritosh has also written POSTER BOYS which is being Produced by SONY PICTURES and directed by Shreyas Talpade and the cast includes Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol & Shreyas himself. The shooting of POSTER BOYS has just been wrapped up and is in its Post Production.

Director Shekhar S Jha Brings Nana Patekar & Mahie Gill Together For The First Time in Hindi Wedding Anniversary

Hailing from Bihar, Shekhar S Jha is a Humanities graduate from the University of Delhi and an Indian Revenue Service Officer of 1991 Batch. But their plan takes a complete turn of events where Mahie finds herself in Goa with a man named Nagarjuna (Nana Patekar) and the story unfolds through some compelling scenes.
