Darkhaast reveals the real intimacy between the lead pair of Shivaay

Darkhaast, the romantic track from Shivaay starring Ajay Devgn and Erika Kaar has passion and poignance in equal measure.  Shot exquisitely against the Himalayan landscape, the song dwells on intimate moments between the film's lead couple, who are madly in love.

While the magic of the song will unfold when it breaks online on September 22 at 12 noon, sources say that lyricist Sayyeed Qaudri and music composer Mithoon had a tough task working on it.

It is said that Ajay in his instruction to his music team was clear that each word had to be carefully chosen because Darkhaast isn't just a song in the film.  It is a track that captures the emotions and situation in which the couple are. It's a crucial part of the narrative because it takes the story forward in rhyme.

The actor-filmmaker graciously admits that Sayyeed and Mithoon are also the storytellers of the film because of their close participation in this composition.

Farah Khan, Sajid Khan and David Dhawan Launch Jeet Gian's The Three Wise Monkeys.

Amidst great tongue-in-cheek humour, jokes and gags blockbuster comedy trio Farah Khan, Sajid Khan and David Dhawan launched author Jeet Gian's second book The Three Wise Monkeys at Sun & Sand, Juhu, Mumbai.
After tasting success with his debut book The 3 U-Turns of My Life, Jeet Gian, who is a Chartered Accountant and founding partner of JCA Consulting Group, Dubai couldn't help but be more excited at the launch of his second book and the occasion only got bigger and better with the presence of the three renowned comedy film directors.

Jeet who seemed very excited at the launch spoke passionately about his book, "The Three Wise Monkeys is a ready reckoner on how to make easy and quick money by simply working indoors wearing shorts from…prison! No seriously, though this book is a humour genre but the contents are subtle and serious involving current burning issues, such as hoarding of black money within the country and outside country in foreign offshore accounts with Switzerland and Mauritius using third party nominee directors to hide ultimate beneficial owners (UBO)."
He further added, "I have tried through funny characters and through funny situations to entertain and at the same time gibe at our CA profession, relationship between middle aged married couples of high society, rich businessmen craving for name, fame and awards, greedy bankers and unwillingness among politicians to deliver the promises made to the public during the elections. Like my previous book, this book is also a suspense, which reveals in bits and pieces at regular intervals to intrigue readers. Lastly, this book will help young India how to make quick money by selling…kidney!"
Having said that the book does seem very relatable almost to the point of being inspired by real life cases. Ask Jeet if that's the case and he says, "No, but it’s inspired by the real life events of our ancestors, that is, monkeys and their philosophy 'See no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil'."

"Never thought I would be asked to play a mother of four!" - Lupita Nyong'o speaks on Mira Nair's 'Queen of Katwe'

Internationally acclaimed filmmaker, Mira Nair's forthcoming drama, Disney's Queen of Katwe is all set to release in India on 7th October 2016. The movie had a world premiere at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival in September 2016. Like Nair’s previous films, Queen of Katwe is a heartwarming and riveting drama. Based on real-life events, the film chronicles the inspiring story of an underdog from the streets of rural Uganda. She’s a young girl whose world rapidly changes when she is introduced to the game of chess; as a result of the support from her family and community, she develops confidence and determination to pursue her dream to become an international chess champion.

It was an email that Lupita got from her director Mira Nair with the script for Queen of Katwe, during the Christmas of 2014 which spoke on how Phiona Mutesi, an uneducated girl from the slums of Uganda, rose to become the chess champion of her country and an international chess master. Nair wanted her to play Phiona’s mother, Harriet. “Five pages in I wrote my manager and agent with the words ‘I must do this film,’, ” says Lupita.

“To play a mother of four in Uganda, a formidable mother who has so much worked against her, was so compelling to me. It wasn’t something I thought I’d be asked to do”—at least not by Hollywood. “The fact that it was based on a true story, an uplifting story out of Africa. . . .” She inhales and shakes her head. “Oh, my goodness, all my dreams were coming true in that script.”
